Installing Maps in Ubuntu Linux
« on: 3 May 2011, 23:19:54 »
I have installed Glest in my Ubuntu Linux and it works great. However, when I try to put new maps into the maps folder, the system says "You are not the owner, so you cannot chan ge the permissions" I do not have permission to put things into that folder.

Please help

Wrong folder. Normally, you can put things in that folder, but you are not an admin, so your computer won't let you. Use the user folder instead. I THINK it is something like "~/.megaglest" though I'm not a linux users so can give no guarantees, though hopefully you should be able to find it. If not, open the INI file called "glest.ini" in the installation directory, there will be a value like "userdata_root" or something which will show what folder the user data is stored in. This is where you will place downloaded mods.

Glest, MegaGlest, or GAE?

Oops, for some reason I thought this was the megaglest forum... My fail. Glest is no longer supported or developed. Please use GAE or MegaGlest instead.
