Question to Glest Team Format of Mapfiles
« on: 8 June 2005, 07:27:20 »
Hi, as i saw you make great use of XML for your Units.
I personally think thats a great thing.

When i look at your mapfiles i think why not use XML here too ?
The Mapeditor looks something like uh we need SOMETHING to do our maps   )

Maybe if they use too much xml files in the game it would be so confusing  ;) and when they put the files thogether it would be mixed up then they can start to find "where is the proplem?"

The main reason for using XML in the game is to modify these files manually, but since a map is something no one would edit manually be use a binary format that is smaller and faster.

Source code of map editor is on the SVN. Feel free to improve it.
