Free Image Search Engine
« on: 17 May 2011, 00:38:59 »
I recently found this free image search engine which searches through images (all free) and most importantly: tells you the license. You can restrict the search by license, and it does a very good job at that too. In the search results, it has nice, easily visible icons as well as tells you who the author is for easy attribution. Combined with the fact it can toggle whether or not to show sites that need you to make an account, as well as the many good quality images, it may be useful for any stock images you may need.

Trying one sample search for "grass" net me this nice array of images:

Opinions?

Neat!  I guess time will tell how useful it is in regard to Glest.

I found many photos from this source with the following license:
http://www.sxc.hu/help/7_2

Every picture you find here has a special license ( and mainly not really free ). So I think not really useful yet :/

Try Megaglest! Improved Engine / New factions / New tilesets / New maps / New scenarios

You can uncheck that site, mate. Choose "advanced search" like my screenshot shows (notice that site is not checked). If you uncheck the "require accounts" and "require accounts and restrict downloads" button, that site, along with others, will automatically be unchecked. That's the nice thing about it: you can specify the sources as well if you have concerns about them.
