Your Favorite Military Ship
« on: 25 May 2011, 16:30:13 »
So out of nothing short of boredom, I wanted to start a fun and rather simple thread. Post an image or images of your favorite military ships. What does this mean? Basically, WWII/WWI/Vietnam/etc any warships from those eras, modern day, or back to the age of sail period.

~note~ Please don't post any images of carriers, as I personally feel them improper of a ship of war. (carriers=aircraft carriers)

Or, you could just ignore this ^ rule.

Have fun, I'll start off shortly.

It's not really a Military ship, but I preferred the Event Horizon, Gabbe.

I didn't state that you could post sci-fi ships. I was hoping to see images of real-life ships.

From the 18-19th century, the british Victory looks great, later on in WW1 the Warspite, the aircraft carrier/cruiser furious was also awesome. The Rodney, Ise and Hyuga are also great ships, will post links/pics soon

Nor did you say that you couldn't. ;) Far more interesting than a ship that has to move through WATER!

The only old warships I've been on are hms belfast, an old minesweeper and a russian whiskey-class sub.

All were surprisingly small and primative.

There are some ww2 battleships as museums in the usa I think?  Anyone been aboard?

That airship is also a very nice ship!

(and if the impression that I couldn't care the least about a ship that travels through water dawns you, ignore it, it's just the fact that a similar topic already exists so I must mock this one)
