How to add factions in GAE?

Hi all

I recently discovered Glest, and I have found I like Glest AE best. But I don't know how to add factions, can anyone help me? Each time I try to add factions in the folder, it says something like, "Crash! Error, the Techtree could not be loaded. Check glestadv_error.log" or something like that. I am running Windows 7, and I can't find the "error.log" Does anyone know what's going on and how I fix this? Thanks!

Your error.log will be in your user folder/glestae something like that. Not in My Documents just directly in your user folder. (I use win7 for my GAE modding too).
You should check out the wiki as in the faction folder you'll need the faction.xml (named the same as the folder), then you'll need your units folder, upgrades, etc. Note: I think you need at least one non-building unit and upgrade for a new faction to actually work, at least from my experience. You might be better off reverse engineering one of the current factions. It's all in the wiki anyway, that's the best place to get started.
