What are you talking about? Please be more specific... If you're talking about vanilla glest's data, I think it's cc-by-sa so as long as you share alike, you can technically sell it basically. Otherwise please be more specific.

The game's code is under the GNU General Public License.  So yes, you can sell anything you make with it, but you must also release the source code under the GPL.  But like others said, please be more specific about what you want, because I'm not sure what you're asking.

If you are talking about MegaGlest, then you must comply with all of the licensing terms as outlined in the documents that come with the game. You must read them and comply with them or you could face legal problems, the same as with any other open source style project.

Gabbe, stop trolling. You have no obligations to pay any royalties or share any profits with the Glest team, as long as you follow the license on Glest (the GPL). Mind you, most commercial games aren't released under the GPL, and I would personally advise / prefer you work on something FOSS instead of a commercial adaption heavily based on a FOSS program...

Of course, you can also make an optional donation to the Glest team, if you wish.

FOSS and commercial are not mutually exclusive.  Just look at Red Hat.
