Problem with turning turrets after attack command
« on: 14 June 2011, 15:38:23 »
Hello again, I have a new problem with my custom mod. In magitech, player couldn't give targets for turrets, like defence tower (or if could, then how?). Well, I would like that I could specify targets for my turrets, but I don't know how.

First I tried to give them attack command, but it requiered also move command. When I put the move command (with speed 0), everything else went as I wanted, but the turret rotated towards the enemy it was firing. Well, for some models it could look great, but for defence tower-styled model it looks weird.

Is there a way to specify turret target, so that it wouldn't rotate?

There is currently no way. For there to be no target, it needs an attack-stopped (hold position) command, while to give target, it has to be attack.

Well, that just a cosmetic thing. I will just change my defence buildings so that their rotation looks natural. ;)

I recall having been  frustrated in the past that you couldn't select targets with the attack-stopped command... this would be a good feature request I think.
