"Oh neat!"  <--- I actually said that out loud when seeing the Earth one.  That's a cool idea.  I'm not sure the size of a Glest map really does it justice, though.  Regarding fairness, I think the players who start in Europe and Africa are going to have a huge challenge.  Maybe get your most experienced players there so they can actually survive. :)

Yeah, the Earth one is nice. Not sure the name really fits though, it is just Earth. I also agree, if you could make the same shape but instead as 256x128, I'm sure some of us could add in on details...
Maybe this could be turned into a special scenario which uses a mix of tilesets and factions for each country, that would be cool. :D

Also, please don't use Megaupload. There's always better alternatives, such as Mediafire, Gamefront, or kiwi6.
I've replaced the downloads with Mediafire.

I'll make a 256x128 map of the earth, but i'll keep the smaller one. When it's finished somebody could turn it into a scenario with the Indians, Tech and maybey Norseman. I'll post the bigger map here and ulpoad it to Mediafire :)

Have you considered adding cliffs and mountains near, say, the Andes, Himalayas, Rockies, etc?

That would be awesome.  Maybe use the Annex tileset when it comes out?

Oh, well I specifically meant that one because it handles multiple biomes already, and AFAIK there's no way to mix-and-match tilesets in a map/scenario.

Well, I previously meant that we could mix up a lot of the tilesets into a special one, just for that scenario. Not sure if the Annex one will really fit Earth...

Not current version but the original was very Earth like, and designed for multiple biomes as well.
The It should be bigger for he world but how big i have lag issues with 256x256 maps... If this were a scenario it should be done foe GAE as it has boats!! Whats the earth without naval battles?

Oh, ok. Yeah, it seems like this needs to be a 256x256 map, or even a 512x512 map.
If it becomes a scenario, I agree. Though then a lot of people would miss out...Maybe we should have specific maps for each country.  :D

I have added mountains and some more trees, but i'm not sure if the mountains look ok. What do you think?

A bigger map could become a problem, especially a 512x512 (or 512x256) maps. Do you mean this: Europe on a map and Asia on another map? It would be far a scenario, I think.

Well, they could be a series of scenarios.

Yeah, that's always the problem. Maybe this could become a community project.

Of course. I guess the world map, for MG at least would be exclusively for air units.

I was actually thinking a more "zoomed in" type of map as a future Military campaign. For example, all of europe, instead of the whole world, which is rather limited by Glest's square maps.

A 512x512 map would be a nightmare though, trying to attack other players. It'd be just click to attack, go make a coffee, sit there watching the coffee brew for 15 minutes, go make some popcorn, pop down in front of your computer, watch a youtube video, then flip back to Glest to prepare for combat. :P
