Hi Arnbjorg (or is it Arnbjørg?),

thanks for registering and reporting your issue. Many people use MegaGlest on various versions of Ubuntu fine, so this issue is most likely related to your specific computer.

If the problem persists, please provide all the information we need, as described in the pinned topic READ THIS: How to report and fix issues in this forum. For example, the following information is currently missing:
* What is your exact Ubuntu version?
* Where did you download MegaGlest from / how did you install it?
* What is the exact error message?

Please provide us with the unabbreviated error message. You can run MegaGlest from a terminal window to get this. If you need help with this, let us know.

At this point, all we know is that an OpenGL error occurred. This is often caused by drivers or hardware which do not meet the system requirements of MegaGlest (see the README file). Please make sure your computer does provide all that's neccessary to run MegaGlest. If you need help with this, let us know.

We need full error text and much more detail than you have posted. Please post everything that outputs to the console for example if possible.

This is a VERY old graphics card! Its the weakest card of the Geforce4 series, thats a long long time ago! The time it was introduced it was meant for office only, never for games! And looking at your screenshot you have to use a very deprecated driver to make it display anything.

I think its not worth any effort to make this work, because its for shure too slow to play glest! Sorry with this hardware you cannot play.

( update: this card is from 2003! )

I try megaglest for windows with wine and it run smooth  :)

I think there's something with linux version and i wonder what is the problem?

I prefer to play with native linux megaglest.

I can imagine its the the driver you are using ...
96.43.19 is pretty old but i am not shure if there is an newer driver available.

The strange thing is that it runs via wine which also uses the driver. Maybe it encapsulates some common driver bugs?

"Please post everything that outputs to the console for example if possible."

Open a linux terminal and type:

megaglest --verbose >info.log

and paste the contents of info.log here

Actually, softcoder meant to say that you should run it with --verbose (and redirect output to a file, as he explained, and as you did), and then reproduce the error, so that it hopefully gets logged to the logfile.

Do this:
Code: [Select]
megaglest --verbose >info.log 2>&1...then reproduce the error, and upload info.log. We'll need the entire output.

Also, the information I listed as missing was examples, we are lacking much more information. If you can do it as explained in the 'READ THIS' forum topic I poointed you to this would more likely enable us to help you with this issue.

Hmm.... i really don't understand what you mean? I'm only a linux user not a programmer  :) .

I have typed i terminal and it is only start the megaglest not a series of code you ask.

What can i do? Please explain more clear so i can do it.
