First unit in-game

I increased complexity of skin although still not up to Wciow standards, and animated basic movement and melee attack. For a starting point I've made these closely equivilent to Martian Tripod, but faster and shorter ranged attack. Even though They are not very strong, they are quite creepy and and spider-like, and might raise your pulse when they rush your base.

The Kumo Tank's turret might be better as a defense turret? That'll leave Wciow's spider tank as the main tank equivalent to Martian Assault tripod or Industaron Wave Tank.

We need some buildings and a food or power concept.

I'm not shure with ressources (wich ones do you have in the other factions? / Maybe use the same/mixed up ?).

It's quite difficult to find good music licenced under (Global-) PublicDomain, but I keep looking.

Would a modified version (much more futuristic) of this fit ?

Yeah thats cool if you can make it more futuristic, and in ogg format.

The faction can use food or energy. I'd prefer not both as complicates AI etc. Other resources as ore(=stone), uranium(=gold) and wood.

The theme color for particle effects, icons and HUD is blue. That way it contrasts with other factions (Martians is green, industarons are red/pink/orange)

Need some basic move, stop, attack and hold icons.

I'm happy to incorporate as many other people's models as possible, but I am a fast worker.... below is a re-build and re-skin of the utility Mech for Industarons (not used). The skin is the exact same file as the kumo-mech for reduced file size.

It's a light or medium mech like the GDI wolverine. I added a gatling gun, engines and wings. I think it can have a hover mode for extra mobility, and maybe even morph into a hover-jet or helicopter gunship???


If anyone objects to this or any other contribution, just say explaining why.

Hi, nice one .... typed the first 4 pages of scores for the music today... this model could become a scout-unit. Fast, medium armour, weak (or no) attack (can be improved by upgrades).

Also, John has given permission to use some of his old alien models. This is the tripod. The Ookami Mech (as per above, Wolf mech in Japanese) is also shown in a standing and hover-move mode.

Thanks, John. The tripod needs some kind of retexturing...

Thanks for the feedback and excellent contributions. A lot of the feedback is stuff I've been thinking on, it may take me a while to digest because everything gets me thinking on stuff.

How tall is the Alien model? I made the infantry in the other two factions much smaller than MagiTech humans, so that the scaling vs tanks and stuff looked better, So this needs to be about 1.5 units tall (not 2.1 as per magitech). And it could do with blue and yellow dominated uniform. Cool model.

Re Ookami Mech, cool idea. I want to use blue for all particle effects in Alliance to reinforce the connection but I think this one effect should be fine. I'm planning to build a helicopter version of the Ookami as an additional morph mode, so maybe 300 speed instead of 400 for the booster? That's still a big boost. The boost capability should require an upgrade, but we can specify that later... and I'll make a slightly different mech animation for boosted flight, like more swept wings and higher off ground.

the alien is currently 3,5 high and 2 width... scaled down 1,5 and something below 1 would work. Color of uniform will become blue and yellow.

How about the name "Suzumebachi(Hornet)" or "Kumabachi(Large carpenter bee)" instead of "hachi"?
I think "kanabun(drone beetle)" also fits the unit well, it's not a bee though.

I've seen suzumibachi, scary as hell man. I might save that name for a swarm fighter, so kumabachi might be best. Kunabun doesn't sound menacing when said by people who don't know what one is. I was also toting with names like Kirin and Hyabusa for air units but this is a slow small air unit

Wciow, if you read this, any chance you could upload your cool spider tank man? Even if not animated or re-skinned I'd like to get it in as a placeholder.

Still needing contributions everyone. I could just use my models but it wouldn't be so cool. Buildings, Units, icons, HUD whatever. Please discuss in this thread.
