I was also working on a actual bipedal infantry, it was originally for another project but I was going  to donate it to this. So I don't really mind if you don't use it.

Here is a small melee robot called Scrobo.

Download: Here
Thanks, I'll put that in as soon as I get a chance. No harm in having more than one infantry type, especially as this is melee.

Is it possible to add some blues and yellows into the skin so that it connects with the other units. Ultimately it might be necessary to hold the faction together.

I have concern it will be redundant with the spider this faction already has.
You might make this unit as a small self-destructing telerobot like german "Goliath" tracked mine in WWII, what do you think?

well it's your model. I think hagekura has a cool idea which fits well. The current model is a bug, it's living. Maybe adapt the skin or meshes go give it a more robotic feel. Also make more blue/yellow. Doesn't have to be all blue-yellow, just that then it will fit visually with the others. It can be like a small attack bot that in effect is a type of infantry. Then we can give it a basic melee attack, and a secondary suicide attack.

Your models are very good man, clear signs of improving too. Also I was wondering whether we could update the moon tileset to complement the scifi pack?

If it's going to be a bomb why not put some funky, sci fi explosives on it's back?

...and a secondary suicide attack.

secondary attacks are only used correctly by human ... be aware of flooding the game with not-exploding bombs ;-)

Wciow's Bio Seige-mech added. I took the liberty of adding some team color. I will also resize it slightly and animate it, and add a plasma shield effect.

Wciow, is it ok if I add some blue and yellow to the skin?

ElimiNator, the thing with the current moon tile set that I don't think works so well with these factions is the brightly colored crystal things. They change the atmosphere somehow. I think if they were more like the rest of it it'd work great with these factions

Single models released by me are always public domain. I don't use photo textures so the work is all mine. Mods are more complicated because they usually contain parts of other peoples work e.g. sounds.

Please go ahead and re-texture the model. I think it will help make the faction cohesive if they have the same look of textures.

Please refer to first post, contributions are public domain. That doesn't mean that they will be misappropriated or not credited, or that anyone will suddenly make millions off glest models. Please let's not derail the thread with the licensing stuff, there are enough threads on that already.

Re Scrobo bug. Maybe make it more like a robotic centipede with a body that snakes left to right as it moves? That'd tie well with the Kumo-mech. It shouldn't be as long as the real thing relative to width, but have the feel of a centipede. The Centipede types I'm thinking of are the infamous "Mukade" giant ones in Japan.

Mukade: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USfsKWCUjaU <nasty thing to find in your bed

I thought this is cool so I'll share it. I add a Will style plasma shield to the Bio Seige mech.

Scrobo, side-by-side with other Alliance units. I think it looks a fraction too large to be a infantry-alternative melee unit, what does everyone else think? Maybe make it smaller so that the Alliance has a more balanced side. When we have the Centipede we can have that as an upgrade of the scrobo.

Where does the name Scrobo come from?

Gotta say I really dig that shield effect, I'll have to look up how to do that.
I have a worry that all the models in this faction won't match  :-\, maybe you should at least edit them so you can add a consistant style and quality to all the models?

U mean trash them to bring them down to my level? Ha! There's a plan. No, I think we can hold it together by a basic color scheme and using blue particle effects.

Anyone have any building models they want to contribute?
