well, winning against the ai-enemys is not that difficult, u just choose magic and train lots and lots of these magic armours to save your village. then you have time enough to develop better units  :o ...

Hm, to be honest the AI is not really I

Built as fast as u can Units  for mining Gold and harvest Wood maybe 10-15.
Stone seems not really be needed let 1 pick some and let him mine Gold later then advance your Technology and build defensive things
wait until the 2 Wave enemy Attack then go out and kill the enemy
(has no more units left for defense ??)

By the way the Pathfinding is partially verry ugly.

In the expansion there will be more defense units, a golem for magic faction and one anti air unit for each faction, for prevent the massive air  atacks and force to find a more strategic option for destroy the settlements

thx for the pictures Tucho, but i meant that the Computer AI
puts all Units to the Enemy within maybe 2 Attack Waves
If you can stand this Waves you can attack him so he is defenseless
Taking his base is no great deal then.

The AI could be improved in several ways, but is one of the most diffucult thigs to test since you have to play complete games every time you modify something to see if it has produced the desired effect.

We provide 2 AI difficulty levels, and you can play easier or more difficult games by playing with or against allied facions. (Tucho has won against 3 Ultra allied factions in the riverside map, but the AI has improved a bit since then).

I think Unc1354m has a valid point, though. The game really needs a tutorial or at least a detailed walkthrough for people who haven't played a RTS before. That would make Glest more accessible to the "casual gamer". :)
