Secret Hint: To play online join the IRC #megaglest-lobby on freenode which is the lobby chat ingame. So you can chat with or wait for people in the lobby without running megaglest all the time.

Could be an error depending on high screen resolution like I posted in https://forum.megaglest.org/index.php?topic=7398.0

Assuming that the image is the entire window, that may be it. 1280x1024 is neither 4:3 nor 16:9 (it's 5:4)... It would be so much simpler if everyone simply chose a standard 16:9 or 4:3 resolution... The majority of monitors are in or at least support such a resolution.

omega thats wrong:
1. 1280x1024 is a VERY COMMON resolution for tft monitors. Nearly all pre 16:9 Monitors used it. Its calles SXGA! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SXGA#SXGA_.281280.C3.971024.29)
2. The resoltution has nothing to do with it, because ( I think ) all version of glest use an internal virtual resolution which is nto affected by the nativ one.

I stand corrected. Though, the internal resolution still makes a difference, as, for example, images can be stretched on different resolutions (such as a loading screen).
