Problem with MG menu after playing Annex mod
« on: 27 August 2011, 11:46:20 »
Hello

I tried a couple of days ago with Annex mod. Now when I start normal MG, menu lacks some of the buttons, which were there before (like Mod Menu). How to bring that back without necesity to reinstall?

You'd have to edit the XML files which define the menu. But reinstalling is really easier. Make sure that you configure Annex to use a different configuration directory (UserData_Root) than MegaGlest, and that this directory actually exists. See titi's post and the update he posted there.

maybe you accidently saved the menu layout of annex in .megaglest(in case of linux).  I think there is a hotkey to do this. look around in your .megaglest directory to see if there is anything suspicios.
Try Megaglest! Improved Engine / New factions / New tilesets / New maps / New scenarios

Is there an installer or how do people install this mod? If it uses installers the installers need to install to a different location then the default megaglest path.

Well, for the windows version Ishmaru just compresses all the files for Annex with 7z...
I suppose Ishmaru just needs to change this:
<file-name value="$APPDATA\megaglest\glestuser.ini"/>
like instead of megaglest, let it be "annex" or whatever...

He should also invoke the game with the --ini-path option, providing the same path value as an additional argument. At least for 3.5.2 this can be neccessary.
