There should be a separated list of people who are available on the IRC channel.
There is always someone, but because people on IRC are invisible to users connected via Megaglest, they often leave, because they do not want to wait until someone connects to the game.

If the list of IRC users would be there, the connected players could ask someone to create a new game or to join one.

In the initial IRC implementation on the game all nicknames did show up and it was unbearable this way because idlers in #megaglest-lobby would get nickname highlighting harrassed.

I think the best compromise is to display buttons for everyone on the channel, but to 'grey out' and inactivate buttons for everyone whose nickname does not start with MG_. I'm not sure whether (visually) inactive buttons are covered by the limited GUI elements available at this time, though.

Turns out this is exactly what ultifd suggested back when I asked for the change.

In addition we now strip out invalid characters that IRC cannot handle so people can use names in their native language for game play and those characters are changed to - in IRC lobby so that they can connect there.
