If not Berlin, perhaps the Prague Spring?

Mod looks awesome, though I'll put off downloading the standalone version as I can't stand them.... (I'm not so good at puns)
Though once 3.5 comes along, I'll totally download it :).

I REALLY like your menu btw! Very cool. What about changing the button textures aswell?

Very nice screens, couldn't care about the standalone version, though it is a nice menu screen. I do hope you realize how many cons there are to trying to maintain a standalone version, especially if you refuse to compile it yourself...

On another topic, why do you make so many separate threads? Keep them all in one discussion, or else it becomes very spread out and difficult to follow along. Especially, in particular, for a new release, since people would expect the main (?) thread to have the release information, not another thread. This also messes up any links that were meant to point to the forum discussion (not to mention; which thread do you point to?). On another note, you should make a wiki page...

Thanks man, the menu will only come with the interim standalone release obviously. I've changed the button textures but kept it basic.

Looking at your first post, there's only a standalone version?

I like the US tank destroyer's fine attack animation - the Recoil buffer fallbacks and ejects empty case - . I hope you put an enough effort for humanoid units animations as well.  :O

I think the tanks firing sound effects in this mod is flat and a bit annoying. You should remove noise and decrease sound volume of the current kaboom sound and add more varieties of blast sounds.

64-bit linux works great in ubuntu!

The intro animation is fantastic and really fits.  The gameplay is nice, although its odd to see the workers shoveling at the base of some crates labelled 'metal'.

I too find the boom of the guns monotonous.  But its hardly a big problem.

Is it possible to have multiple sounds that get picked randomly each time?

Yeah man, bone animation isn't my thing. And sounds too. But hopefully other stuff can make up for it.

Fun mod man! I do feel that soviets are a bit under powered compared to french and us factions. Most machine gun/vulcan/assualt rifle (non turret) use same particle as tank cannon Which is strsounds also I'm not crazy about music although the anthem idea seems nice, it doesent set a tone for war and gets a bit anoying. The flight of the valkires is a nice idea but the quality is low and repeats often and suddenly that it doesent get me in the mood.

Sorry not trying to attack your mod or anything. I dispite issues I still play this mod often. Play as us cause m60 and 108 howitzer combo is awsome!
Liked wasteland tileset with war ambient sounds.

Thanks for the feedback man. For soviets the t64 should give them an edge in pure armor, and GRAD should be much the same as M109.

I love the soviet anthum so that's staying no matter what. The Stalinist version with male choir is best but for mist of cold war there the anthem had no words, so I used that more authentic version. I might extend valkaries. Any suggestions for French, or Swedish or Israeli? Needs to be something we can get either public domain or whatever. There's a song by oasis that'd work really well but finding a licensable copy is hard.

you mean music or unit suggestions, if you want units I'd say israelis need the improved Sherman, mix of brit and Ami vehicles and some old WW2 stuff

well both :D

For Israeli faction I've latched onto the Sherman suggestion:

For MBTs, start with M-51 Super-Shurman (Isherman). Then progress to M-60, then upgrade to M-60 with Blazer ERA (requires extra upgrade to buy German Blazer explosive-reactive armor). There'd also #have# to be a Merkava-1 prototype. Would like to have centurian but seems extra to M-60

For light units, start with AMX-13, then  RBY mk1, and RBY mk1 Anti-tank.

Air defense. Static would be TCM-20 and Hawk SAMs. Mobile would be 'hatzerim' haklftrack with TCM-20, and Chaparral.

Artillery -  L-33 Ro'em and MAR-290 MLRS (both can be morphed from Super-Sherman)

Heavy tanks - none.
