no KV-5? at 100tons it should qualify, though I don't think a prototype ever appeared.

, the ISU and KV are really quite average, though impressive nonetheless
Maus was 180tons, german made

two prototypes were ever built, the only model is the combined soviet one.

Yeah don't know much about kv5 but like you say, never built. With kv2 and ISU I was going more by firepower and physical size than weight.

I've probably missed some types anyway.

Challengers, Abrams and merkavas typically top 70 tons in combat load. The US T28 was sorta operational and was 95 tons.

U could argue the top spot forever but what really amazes me is how two of the obvious contenders come from WW1; tsar tank (9m tall!!!!!!) and Char2c

I really want to see a tsar tank on glest, maybe a steam version in Imperial faction???

largest doesn't necessarily mean the heaviest, since several tanks like the KT and Tiger as well as modern tanks are quite compact for their equipment and things such as armor thickness, which influences weight, don't really affect size much

Maybe russians have obsessed over Giants like these since WWII?
I wonder is there any field for them in today's combat, though. :|

In today's war, the bigger you are, the easier it is for aircraft to attack you, aircraft dominate todays battles, not tanks and so tanks must be designed accordingly, plus, though that SP artillery looks very bulky, the Chassis is off of an existing tank, I think, and though the turrets large, most SP artillery has a large turret too, but only a single cannon.

They finally plan to make something the Tornado might stand an outside chance of hitting just as it finally retires...

Pre + early WW1 had some of the most interting weapons due to the rise of industry and technology being faster than then we could contemplate how to even use them. There should be more mods focusing on the early days of industrial warefare, with these kind of prototype tanks! Maybe someday ill give that idea a shot!
