[not a bug] r2653: some bugs on option menu
« on: 8 October 2011, 14:14:39 »
Hi

Ubuntu 11.04 64bit
v3.5.3-dev-GNUC: 40502 [64bit]-Oct  8 2011 15:39:48, SVN: [Rev: ], [STREFLOP]
running threads = 0

when I click on auto conf it seems to do nothing.
some options are unreadable in french. The top of video information is unreadable too. see attachment.
When you click on default conf on keyboard menu, it lead back to general option. Don't know if it's a bug but it's perturbing.

best regards, David.

Hi,

for the second screenshot I've past a correction: paste id 40lj.
Just display the label a little to right. 400 to 600.

For reports on development builds, please always provide the exact revision number in the subject line. The generic versions tring of "3.5.3-dev" is insufficient. If you cannot determine the revision number please state where you got your build from.

for the second screenshot I've past a correction: paste id 40lj.

You seem to be referring to some pastebin here? Can you provide the URL, or, if it's just a couple lines, it's probably better to paste it here directly, wrapped in a code section:
Code: [Select]
code goes hereYou can quote my post, then, while editing your new forum post, you can click the rightmost icon to toggle view, then you'll see how to insert code.

Just display the label a little to right. 400 to 600.

Have you verified this works on smaller screen resolutions, too?

It's rev 2653.

the link is : http://megaglest.pzt.me/15tt

No I don't test for small resolution.
You're right, i have to.

I've found another bug in that page:
OpenGl Extension is displayed but not openGl Platform extension.

Too many information.
Maybe a scrollbar would help.

I'll try to correct that, and I'll test in little resolutions if you want.

Thanks Tomereyn.

It's rev 2653.

I modified your first post and the subject line to reflect this.

the link is : http://megaglest.pzt.me/15tt

No I don't test for small resolution.
You're right, i have to.

Once you have, the developers can take a look at your patch. To me making the positioning of some text look nicer is not a bug but rather a feature/improvement request.

I've found another bug in that page:
OpenGl Extension is displayed but not openGl Platform extension.

Again, to me, that's not a bug, this is just because your GPU doesn't provide any - others do.

The only possible bugs I see in this thread is:

When I click on auto conf it seems to do nothing.
When you click on default conf on keyboard menu, it lead back to general option.

Too many information.
Maybe a scrollbar would help.

I'll try to correct that, and I'll test in little resolutions if you want.

If you can improve things for everyone without breaking others please do. It's not always as easy as it may seem on the first look (but no reason to let yourself be stopped). ;-)

Hi Tomereyn,

I try setting the game resolution to 640 480 and 800 600
It display well.

Is that you want me to test or is another thing  to do?

You're right there is no more information available.
I thought that they not displayed because there was no more space in the screen.

Thank you.

I'm not sure what "it" is, here. Please verify that the changes you suggest (i.e. moving the right hand side text block more to the right on the Options -> Video menu) does not move this text off screen on a 800x600 resolution.

That's what I've test.
It doesn't move the text out.

I tried In 800x600 in full screen and in windowed mode.

What I was not sure was if I had to change my system resolution too.
But I think that change to window mode is enought.

Can you confirm that?

Thanks

Cool, it's now in SVN.

Yes, changing the resolution and restarting the game is sufficient to test this.
