OpenSuse dependencies
« on: 18 December 2011, 22:09:38 »
Atze had some trouble getting the map editor to start up properly (he built it himself using build-mg.sh on OpenSuse 11.4).

He needed to install these libraries to get all missing libs into place:
Code: [Select]
libwx_gtk2u_core-2_8-0-wxcontainer
libwx_gtk2u_gl-2_8-0-wxcontainer

Is this due to his specific build or can we assume that every OpenSuse user will be missing these libs and run into issues when trying to start the map editor?

Unless this is a dynamic/static building issue I assume this affects every OpenSuse user since these are not 'devel' (header) packages? Should we add a reference to these packages to our installation README?

Yes, they appear to be named differently on suse, we cannot possibly know of all the variations that libs are called for each distro, so its good to get feedback from users and then do what we can to deal with such issues.

Thanks
