in my opinion, glest shouldnt share a lobby with another game. where are the benefits? players could just get confused, especially new ones. if i play a game called gest, i want to start it in a "glest-space".
it´s just a thing about useability.

a lobby, similar to TA is, on the other hand, quite useful. it doesn´t start fullscreen, i can leave the window open, i can chat while doing my work otherwise, i can wait for one specific player (perhaps with "buddies", and it doesnt need my GFX-card resources from start. sounds a little bit like gamespy, etc. that´s nice.

and yes, multiplayer. multiplayer. huuu, i think the most important next step in development, far more important then everything else. battling computers is nice, but nothing more, these times are multiplayer times, a human mind is the most interesting opponent, and...ahm, did i mention the word "multiplayer" so far? yesss...:)

I think it would simplyfy things if they shared a lobby. Anyway, you could have it coded so that if you don't have the engine installed, then that type of game doesn't show up.

So say you just installed glest, and you go into multiplayer, the lobby might show 4 glest games. No confusion.

But say you have spring and glest installed. The lobby now shows ten games.

The reason I say this is that at the moment free games like this tend to have a very small community, and so the ability to see all games being played means less stuffing around in the lobby room and more playing.
