XML attack-strenght – spelling mistake?
« on: 26 January 2012, 08:54:21 »
In modifying the Japanese Faction, I'm trying to make Shinobi units not attack unless right next to an enemy unit, thus allowing them to sneak into a town for a peek without starting a fight (and usually dying). BUT, the issue here is the XML tag for attack-strength.

In the Japanese XML it's attack-strenght, and it is also in other mods I've scanned through, eg., Imperial, Magic, Tech, and Ming. The Wiki page says it should be attack-strength though.

What's going on? Questions;
  • How should it be spelled?
  • If attack-strenght is wrong, are units defaulting to some value because the tag is ignored?

Edit: Ah, I just found this post on it from early 2011. So either the correct tag or the typo will work in GAE units..?

Yeah it's a typo in the engine, at least for original glest and megaglest. The original devs, or demigods as we think of them, were Spanish I think. But easy to just live with it.

Sounds like it was fixed for GAE, but should continue to be misspelled so that GAE mods will work on MG, I guess.
