« on: 28 January 2012, 21:41:46 »
When the owner of a room blocks an IP address, it whould not be showed in it's full version, but only something like this: ***.***.24.103.

I agree with this, but would rather mangle the last (or last two) octet(s). If possible, the player names of users affected by a block should be displayed, too.

Sown where? Its not specific to a slot because they are blocked from joining the game. If you block > 1 person there needs to be a display somewhere and the screen it already quite busy. Do people really even use this block feature often enough?

i don't think it's nessecary to display it. normally it should not happen to often that people ban others and also i agree with softcoder that the screen is already quite full, especially on headless servers (as the advanced option are shown by default). a step in the direction of gae would be nice here.

A message like this would probably fit into the console:
IP address 123.123.123.xxx has been blocked. Disconnected players: Alice. Other players affected: Bob, Cari

If it means too much work to determine the players who get disconnected or are currently (still) connected but will be affected by this block if they get disconnected, then a message like this (similar to what we have now) would be sufficient:
The server manager has blocked IP address 123.123.123.xxx and kicked a player using it.
This wording isn't great but a compromise between properly and understandably explaining what has just happened. Better suggestions are welcome. The wording we have so far (3.6.0.3) has made at least two people believe they had been blocked when someone else had actually been blocked.
