I guess it would have been more interesting to ask what it took to take them down. A bunch of catapult style units and cheap meelee units could take this out quickly. Obviously you're in a later stage of the game so the attacker may have had all kinds of units by then.

Attacker was Norsemen, and used all the Norsemen units. REMEMBER, this is mega glest 3.6.0.3, this was before I lowered defences.

And yes, he had LOTS of units by then, in fact he owned all the map that wasn't defended.

lol, remember "half truth is worse than lie"?
I played this game: I was Norsemen, and Roman - enemy, was lagging a lot, so I did it slowly, step by step, so the guy does not crash. And now the same guy is so proud how long it took to kill that towers  :O
Of course you can destroy defenses on the picture easily. Just use catapults + cannon fodder (e.g. thors + golden axemen).
And don't forget how much gold must have been wasted on anti-air defenses - because as defender, you cannot tell, what kind of attack will come.

Of course, I had all map, around 20 000 of gold and could have much more... I could have destroyed much more than that wall. Too much theory and too little playing - you get wrong ideas.

And most funny thing was, the guy said, after being defeated, that he was right about ballista being too strong, because it "killed so many units". I really didn't know MegaGlest was not about winning the game  :o

Will you tell us how long did it take to break your defense? I am very curious. :)

Well designed attack would take that down in less than 5 minutes. If there were more stone towers to block access to ballistas, it could take a bit more.

Actually, this proved (I was Roman few times, too) to be incorrect, because ballista cannot shoot from behind stone tower to catapult, that attacks the tower.

Because it is too far away. Towers were supposed just to halt the whole army for a bit longer. Ballistas are useful only if attacker decides to destroy towers using lots of cannon fodder infantry.

It took > 60 minutes. I think that it does show it was too strong (my personal opinion). uuu is a very good player, but I doubt 90% of players would be able to get past this in 3.6.0.3 too easily.
