When playing over hamachi or just on LAN, you usually go trough alot of IP adresses when gaming wiht different people, and its pretty annoying.

So, make MG able to allow copy pasting into the game, or at least the connect on IP field.

Every IP entered in there is saved and can be retrieved later using the left and right arrow buttons.

i know, but to be honest its alot faster just copy pasting the ip from hamachi and directly into the bar.

not to mention IP adresses sometimes changes for various reasons.

Look into making Hamachi start the MegaGlest game with --connecthost=a.b.c.d (passing those IP addresses via command line option), I imagine this will be possible somehow. On a LAN, you should be fine by just using the option which finds available servers via broadcasting.

if the broadcast feature worked flawlessy i wouldnt have asked, as for hamchi, i dont even think windows have a commandline for it, much less a command line that is easy to use as to start a MG game with.

And even if i could, it would be far easier to just mark something ctrl-c tab to game, and ctrl-v

I often have problems with broadcasting issues on windows, not only MG, while the basic principle sounds smart and simple, its just not allways working, a dirrect ip connectin tho. ALLWAYS work, (provided there is actual connectivity)

The broadcast ONLY works on NIC's using the same subnet as your IP address on each NIC. Not sure how Hamanchi works but likely the broadcasts are blocked or else Hamachi would be filled with all kinds of broadcasts from people local private networks. This feature is designed for Local LAN's.

It would be nice to implement this function. People could copy & paste in the chat urls (screenshots, links to the last MG version for newbies with an older version etc).
