The best about Ubuntu 12.04 is, that a Mate repository exists for it :-D. Mate is a fork of gnome2 which I still like a lot more than all the other desktops....

I'm running 11.10 and I still use the "classic" gnome 2 desktop.

I dislike unity but I decided not to follow the herd and switch to Mint either.

Yeah, I've been using Mint for a while because of how much I dislike Unity.  Interestingly enough, I think Gnome 3 actually has a lot of potential, but as yet it seems somewhat half-baked.  With a little bit of polish and more customization, I'd update to Mint 12 in a heartbeat.

I upgraded to Ubuntu 11 that was released a while back. I hate unity! I am going back to Gnome.
