Some people are just into boring clickfests and you'll never convince them otherwise. And they dominate the market 1000000000 to 1.

That's the whole reason I have to make my own games. There are maybe 10 games worth playing if you look really really hard in RTSes these days and most of them are citybuilder or sim hybrids.

My engine is a fork of GAE. It has anything GAE had in it as of the git repo I cloned. Forget the precise version.

I only play Emperor, Majesty, Stronghold and similar games.

it _Have_ to be the modders descision, perhaps someone have created that works well because it can't auto repair.

Perhaps not the point is if im creating a game/mod/whatever, i dont want the engine telling me "you can't do that". Seriously, Many of us wouldnt be here if the engine did that, Most of us are here because the engine let us design and create the units we want, By forcing such a artificial we are limiting what modders can do, if you don't like a mod/game have auto repair play one of the many other mods there are, That's how it is, there are many games where i think "if only that unit dind't have that ability". But in overall i enjoy the game because it is balanced around it. Because thats how the developers designed the game.

I don't see what the point of not letting auto decisions be optional is. There is no reason not to let modders decide. Its purely a case of some boolean attributes in the unit XML and a few lines of code in unit_type.

Auto-Repair should be done exactly as in GAE. With the addition of in-game toggles.
Patrol and Guard could probably be done on the engine side as well. Fully toggleable all across the board like auto-repair.

You know what I would like to see ported to MG from GAE? Static Values and Multipliers in the XML's. That would make things so much more dynamic and useful! It doesn't seem too hard to code.....
