Standard Glest Mods?
« on: 14 June 2012, 19:59:24 »
I've not been here in a long time, as such I've pretty much forgotten about the Glest Megapack (and the game itself really). Recently I've donwloaded and installed the standard Glest game, but I'd really like to get my hands on some mods for it. Does the Megapack still exist? Also, can I download additional tilesets, maps, or scenarios for regular Glest?

Vanilla Glest is defunct. Uninstall and grab the latest versions of GAE and MegaGlest. A list of mods can be found on the Wiki.

The thing is, the last time I used GAE or MG, neither worked too well with my laptop (instablilities), currently vanilla Glest works fine, I just wish I had mods for it. Assuming in my absence GAE has been fixed or made more 'stable', I might be willing to try it out again.

The Megapack still exists. It's the default techtree of MegaGlest - and has been since MegaGlest has been started, so I wonder whether you really tried it.
I can't tell when you last tried MegaGlest - there were times when it was not stable for online gaming - but it is stable for offline gaming and also for most online games where all connected players are from the same region of the planet and have a reasonably working Internet access and computers which can provide the documented hardware/software requirements.

If you're within these specs and are still running into trouble (which would surprise me) then please report to http://bugs.megaglest.org - if you are unsure about sorting them out you can post to the MegaGlest forums at http://forums.megaglest.org instead.
