[notabug] Speed

I find this game rather ... slow. I don't see any option to speed up, but at least units should move faster, especially workers, so you could build your force a bit faster and not be stucked 10 mins just doing that build order routine all the time, when you see you failed somewhere later in the game. Also units in general should be faster, this would make melee more useful and there won't be that tactics full power ranged and if you fail means you didn't use enough ranged power.

That is true about glest, would you beleive me if i said it was worse in the past?.
Anyways, GIS is a game all about speed, and tactics. Kinda like starcraft, The control and pace of the game should match that. It will however not be free.

And....G.i.S is suposed to be playable in two months.

I am the creator of GiS btw. :).

For single player, you can press + to speed up the gameplay. You can further speed it up using some INI options (which I don't remember, but they should be listed on the INI page on the wiki). Speeds are configurable for each techtree and faction, and you can either create modified copies of existing factions where license terms permit (most DO permit) or create your own.
It's unlikely that the Megapack, the default techtree coming with MegaGlest, will be modified to make things faster, though. After all, most people, like Titi (who made much of it), like it as it is.

I think it would be bad because it would cause more lag, the players would play on larger maps, we need to fix problems first LAG,
I think it would be really interesting, was to have an option to run/walk in the faction menu, this is a suggestion that I prefer  ;).

I think the main problem is how long it takes from start of game to when the action starts. Its pretty bad for glest. I think the problem could be solved with more starting resources and workers. Half the issue is how much resources one needs to expend before one has enough workers to have a steady income. Due to this unit production is very sluggish.

If you would like to try, Annex: Conquer the World is built for fast paced C&C style combat.

It is fastpaced like starcraft, it is not starcraft is never going to be starcraft and was never intended to be starcraft.

besides isn't it a bit early judging before you have seen it?

And it's a game built upon the mg engine.

Ah good, but it would be better just to tweak only unit speed, gathering time is fine, attack rate of units it's good at medium speed too, building is slow, but nothing bad, I hate those insta building anyway.

You think units move too slowly? You could just go to the unit XMLs and change their movement speed.
Bearing in mind that that will break multiplayer. At any rate, if you want to do that, you'd want to take a look at the wiki pages for Skills XMLs. Personally, though, I'd recommend to take a look at the Annex mod instead. Ishmaru packed in some "alternative game modes" which alter the starting units, which can allow for faster game play.

It was more a suggestion for next patches of Megaglest. Let's categorize it as [Balance changes]

As has been previously said, this won't change for the Megapack. There are always people with different opinions on how things should be, and there will alqays be. It's impossible to always make everyone happy, and it also is not necessary - everybody can create mods for MegaGlest, and the license terms even permit that you create your modified Megapack (though you have to use a different name then). Modding existing data is pretty easy, especially when it comes to minor modifications such as these.

End of discussion, thread closed as not a bug. :)
