I have always had a serious problem with the yes/no options in the Scottish Gaelic translation. The shortest translation I can come up with is still too long, and awkward to boot. Could we replace yes/no with on/off, or with the neat little tick boxes we have in the Options menu?

Here's an example from the New Game - Host Game screen with Advanced Options turned on.

Why don't you just use on/off for Gaelic and everyone else will keep using yes/no? Not sure why that would be an issue.

Using on/off does make a usable work around, but in my opinion, using checkboxes would be more streamlined and prevent potential translation issues like this. Admittedly, though, checkboxes don't really add anything, it's more of an aesthetic if anything.

I can't do that, because I need "Yes/no" in other contexts. E.g. you can't answer to "Exit game?" with "on/off".

Actually, the beast way to get around all the translation issues I posted last night is to use gettext and allow individual translation of each string. A beta phase is not the right moment to implement anything like that though, so I'll wait until after the release to make my case for .po files :)

I changed this menu in svn to use checkboxes for the items shown above.

Thanks
