In the options screen, I tried to enter a new username, replacing newbie with ùr. Instead of ù, I got .

System: Windows 7 64-bit.

Does this bug still occur in beta2? (I am able to enter these Gaelic characters from Linux)

Yes.

I am on a German keyboard, so I press the accent first, then the letter. The = appears as soon as I press the accent key.

The Portuguese keyboard layout has similar problems, instead of ã, instead of á.

So it seems like a general problem with Windows keyboards.

I can't reproduce the first on Linux (atibox). No = appears, ù is printed immediately after I hit the u key.

It must be a problem with Windows only then.

I agree (I didn't mean to say that it's not an issue just because it works on Linux).

This is the 'dead key' issue as already discussed in another thread and is an SDL bug on windows

Tagging as [invalid] since we can't fix SDL.

Should we file a bug with them, though?
