I downloaded this straight off of the Glest website

DOWNLOAD spot : Glest.com --- Sourceforge.com

Problem : I load the game just fine, i can get to ANYTHING. But as soon as i join a game and it starts, right after the green load bar finishes my game closes and says  "MegaGlest Fatal Error (null) Exception: 0x6167654d [0x73656c47]                    []"

Screenshot: I didn't think it was necessary, i explained it just as it is.

My OS: Im running Windows XP

This is for bug reports on MegaGlest, not Glest, but based on your error message...

Code: [Select]
MegaGlest Fatal Error (null) Exception: 0x6167654d [0x73656c47]                    []

... I assume MegaGlest is what you've downloaded and are trying to run.

My OS: Im running Windows XP

Which service pack? Run "winver" (Start -> Run -> type it) or "msinfo32" to find out. You're not providing much information, at least the very basic information like which game version you're using (it says on the main menu below the game logo) is crucial. Please revisit http://bugs.megaglest.org and add what you can.

Thanks.

Quote form IRC (which you accessed via http://chat.megaglest.org ):
Quote
<tomreyn> EPiCFAiL: can you run winver again please
<tomreyn> next to the version number it should also say something about "service pack"
<tomreyn> what exactly?
<tomreyn> if it doesn't, what's the long version number in this 5.1.xxxx.yyyy format ?
<tomreyn> also, which hardware do you have there? msinfo32 should tell
<tomreyn> the most interesting bit would be the video/graphics chipset /card.
<tomreyn> if you're having trouble with msinfo32 you can install GPU-Z instead, it also allows for copying/exporting this information to he clipboard, so you can paste it to a pastebin such as http://pastebin.com

Yes, exactly, I'm looking for the video hardware you have there.
"Intel (R) Express Chipset Family" says you have Intel graphics, but more details (exact model) would be good to have.

Be sure to also test with --verbose (see the FAQ on how to do it) on 3.7.0 beta2 and to provide any output (basically the same thing you did with Softcoder earlier).

EPiCFAiL: While I've marked this as a duplicate (since there have been previous posts on this topic which are easy to find using the search function, searching for the error code) you're more than welcome to continue providing details.
