need moddeler

I was thinking of making a building that would allow cow type things to be created, for example.
alchemist guild = produces alchemists which produce gold and stores extra gold
druid guild = produces druid which produce wood and stores extra wood
and for techs
gold plant(working title) = produces chemists(working title) which produce gold and stores gold
tree farm = produces farmers which produce wood and stores gold.

and maybe a quarry for stone

...They're plenty of explanations of the modelling software floating around the forums; it usually helps to search and browse before posting.  :)

Please make a game concept and say want you will contribute.
If you do not have a cogent concept and you do not make a huge part of the concrete development(apart from the ideas), you will not find many people.
But if the concept is congently I will cogitate about participating.

my concept is to make an unofficial expansion to glest which involves 4 new factions the fire clan, ice clan, the summoners, and the necromancers. The story goes that in the years after the war between technology and magic there are a few survivers who have grouped themselves. since the magic faction is not united they must depend on technology to fill in where they cannot so we get a unison of both sides. Also the necromancers are a completely different type of magic that was sealed befored the war but after the war the seal weakened and a powerhungry wizard let it through.

i can make all of the xmls after i experiment a bit more but i suck at modelling so i was hoping for some help.

Hi.

I worked on a very simular mod in the past, but stopped working.
I tried to create something like a "gold cow", a building which creates gold like a cow creates food.
The problem is: Food is a consumable recource, Gold is a static (tech) recource.

If you change Gold to consumable, you can do a "Gold Cow" which is consuming e.g. -10 Gold every 30 seconds (it will produce 10 Gold every 30 secs).
BUT:
If a Unit has a price of e.g. 100 Gold, you have to pay that price every 30 sec, too, like you have to pay the food-cost of any unit every 30 sec.
So that didn't worked the way i wanted.
The solution can be to create a "produce Gold" skill and a "produce Gold" command (like the summoning commands) and set the Gold cost of the "produce Gold" COMMAND to -10 or -100 or what ever.
But this way you have to click a button to get the Gold.
That was not the intention I had when i made my mod and some other things were not possible, too, so i stopped and decided to wait the expansion.
Maybe the expansion brings some new skills.
If not, ill start to heavily mod Glest with some additional programming.
But that will take ages............
......if I can do.

By the Way: If you got some help from modellers it would be cool if you publish all the models you and your team created, even the unused.
I'm sure the GLEST team will publish them as "user-done" downloads.
This way upcomming mods will be much easier.

Good luck for your mod, I will download it, maybe your mod can do the things my one failed to do.

hmm a good way to fix that would be to produce an artificial gold mine. maybe a unit that was a resource u know and that way we could do it.
