[invalid] 3.7.1 crashes suddenly on Windows 8 - x64
« on: 13 May 2013, 20:33:52 »
Hello,

I have a problem with the game. It crashes suddenly, I can't find a reason.
Here a few information about my computer and software:
- Game version: 3.7.1
- Windows 8 64x
- Nvidia GTX 660m (314.22)
- I7 3630QM
- Norton installed
I run the game without any mods.

I uploaded debug.log, error.log and a screenshot to my dropboxaccount in the public folder. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/jikocqeivg2sayg/eOIA80ZCRT
When I made something wrong in the bug report please say it.
Thank you for the help and sorry for my poor English.

Does it crash instantly ? Or randomly while playing ? ( We know about a bug in MG for win7 64bit while playing the game).
Try Megaglest! Improved Engine / New factions / New tilesets / New maps / New scenarios

It crahes randomly after 1-15 minutes.
I didn't saw it in known bugs.

This should be fixed in head of trunk in the subversion repository - which is why it's not listed in the "known bugs" (but feel free to add it there, noting down that it should be fixed post 3.7.1 and is limited to 64-bit Windows). Searching the "closed bugs" forum for your error message should get you some hits.

Please test a development snapshot and let us know whether this works for you.

Sorry, I don't understand. I think you have to add the bug.
I try now to install the game at a other location and when nothing changes, I try the development builds.
Still crashes at my other partition.

I tried with the latest dev version, this error occured:

It looks like a language file is missing/broken.

It looks like a language file is missing/broken.

This sounds like you only downloaded the binary archive, not the data archive?

I downloaded both and extracted them in the right order, but i will check it (do it again).
Dont know why, but the data folder was just moved. Now it starts, but it already crashed, when i changed a setting.
I will test now wether the bug is still there.

Now i have a new bug: the mouse becomes the normal window arrow ad the screen becomes white... the programm doesn't answer...
When the bug will occur again i will let you know it.

Give me a bit time to test
The old bug doesn't occur with the dev version, but the bug mentioned above already happened two times
three times now, here is the dmp file:

Can there be problems when my intel graphic chip runs the game?

Intel graphics can be problematic. Be sure to update to the latest available driver and tell us which hardware you have.
Actually you did, and you told us you have a Nvidia GTX 660m (314.22), so do you have two graphics card in this system, and which of your reports refer to which hardware?
Also keep posting error.log (it's small no need to upload it, just put it here in a code tag (hash icon), so its easy to handle, too).

I thought it would use the "high performance" graphic card from nvidia. But it uses the internal intel graphic card.
Now I changed the standard to the nvidia card and it runs perfect with the dev version.
Thank you for the help and sorry for the problems, but I recognized very late (today, after a few tests) that the computer uses the intel graphic card.
