New Experemental Tileset
« on: 30 May 2013, 21:12:28 »
Its still early alpha but here are some screens for a Tileset im working on. Its based on the Wasteland Tileset (now called Outland FYI) which replaces the worn torn factory ruins with futuristic office buildings and hi rises, for a Sci-fi urban city feel. Currently there are 21 building types, with 4 different texture types

We clearly need to work on the water, but this tileset looks great! It's just enough different types of buildings so that you don't notice repetition. And I does I love the haze / dawn effect.

Thanks! Yes, the water has been on my to do list for a long time. However I have yet to find a suitable replacement.

While I'm not sure this is one, I assume this can actually be a limitation of the engine. The water in Megapack has the same very repetitive structures (it's just that they are a bit more obvious in Annex for some reason). Maybe applying what Titi did for the ground tilesets to the water as well would be useful, so that you could have more variance and different, less artificial looks.

Yea this is true for all water in tileset but its make worse by annex due to the high contrast in the ripples, which makes the repetition pop out more. I don't know if the new changes apply to water as its an animated surface. Will inquire with titi.

sadly no changes on the water yet, just ground texturing has more possibilities.

Maybe someday we will be able have a similar  setup for ground and water, in the future?
