Ow, before i forget to tell:
I was working on 2 other factions for Glest. 1 faction of alien's and 1 faction of robots. I've already made an (incomplete) tech tree. So if there is anybody here who like's to help with this, just say.
I'll post the tech tree's when i've found them... my HD is an mess...

(BTW i stay helping this project)

WTFCK!!!! I think the original idea of a nature faction is more interesting. But it's not a realy original idea (Warcraft 3 already made it). If you wanna ideas about the tech tree, just play it. It will help. Maybe Glest could be 100000000X better than Warcraft.

I don't like the robots idea. It doesn't integrates well with Glest's story. However, what I would like to see in this new nature faction is units that are inmune to splash damage.

I agree about the robots, it doesn't fit in the time period at all. The game follows more of a Warcraft time period, not a Starcraft period. Robots would be nice, in their own mod, but not real fitting with the current factions. Nature on the other hand would be awesome, buildings that were like giant plants, which could heal themselves over time slowly. Also lots of animal summoners, wolves, bears, eagles, falcons, lions, elephants, etc...

Yeah, I think you're right. The robots faction does not fit in Glest.
And back ontopic: Lets try to create an (temp) tech tree for the animal faction. If we have that, we can start  creating things.

This faction sounds like an excellent idea, it reminds me of Celtic (ancient Irish) druids and the like. Perhaps this has already been said, but i think it would be interesting to include a few human units in here, rather than all plants. The worker could maybe be a druid who makes the builingds, by calling upon nature. Anyways, this faction sounds ecxellent, and hopefully woul be in the next build of glest.

Yes, I agree with you eddy. The only difficult think by producing 3D-objects is texturing and maybe animation.
To build models for games like glest needs maybe 15 minutes for more or less complex models. But for the rest I normaly need a couple of hours. :D  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

If you look for something to do, why not start with a new unit. I personally would prefer a dragon-connected magic unit. Here's an idea:
How about a dragon rider (combination of summoner/dragon, like "gaia the dragon champion" from yugioh). Could become a popular unit regardin g the start of that "eragon" movie (at least here in good old germany).
