Well open up a text editor and access all of the XML files that have to do with the units and put there regain at a lower percentage. Its as easy as programming can be.  :O

same here, but my issue is how to make them stronger. From the discussion above it seems that the xml file which has the units the unit regen can be upgraded or something to make them stronger. As it's my first steps in the game would like as painless an experience as possible. Some easy victories in the first few games whets appetitie to try stuff more & more. So should I use the
Quote
<max-hp value="1000" regeneration="3" />
& regen all the different units to whatever tech I'm going to use to regen=10 or what? I need to know so that I can explore how & where the game is & then once I know what can be done then play. This is again in absence of a tute.

ok i have a P4 3.0ghz winXP HOME SP2 (no updates)...
inregards with the quote i used the xml file from 1.1.1 but still their health goes up very fast ... so yeah u are right its not the xml files

martinho:
in the program is the something that controlls the rate of the regeneration?
or is it an external xml file?

cos its the rate the numbers of hp and regeneration are fine it just the rate
and its just no hp its EP aswell
.... well much more than that i dont have any thing else to say.....

Yes, the stuff that controls regeneration in game is some complex performance timer code, there might be some problem there, but It's weird that only shows on some computers.

The timer that controls regenration is the same timer that controls the FPS display, can you try running Glest in debug mode (editing glest.ini, and replacing DebugMode=0 by DebugMode=1) and thell me if the FPS display looks OK?

I found a bug that might have caused this problem (I'm not really sure though, it's just a guess). Can you try replacing glest.exe by the one inside this zip file (http://http://www.glest.org/files/misc/glestfix.zip) and see if it fixes the problem?

It really looks like there is something wrong with the timers, I will have to take a look.

ok i put into the debug mode than it showed me the FPS:0 (at the begining when i was setting up the game than when i entered it disappeared and i got the information that normally comes with the debug mode ..... players resources, how many triangles there are vertex.... render FPS:0 and the only other one with the FPS was 0 too  :?:

its not the xml files i tryed the old one i reduced the numbers like u said and they still did the same thing ...... ..... i have the same problem with the LOS as well some times it kicks in straight away and other times it takes mins
................................................................................................
It worked their attack speed it a little off but thats easy to fix .... what ever you did it worked and now the LOS comes up much better it gradually comes up not just flicking on after a while and the hp & Ep is back to normal... i think it needs to be a very little faster but it fixed the problem so i happy  .....
cheers  :D

this is not a proper fix, because when we really fix the problem all the data will be wrong again, have you tried using the new exe in glestfix2.zip?

Further on this: Noticed the same for my Archmage (the whole Regen of 1000  for HP and EP). I remember it being the first game I played, under "New Game". I think it's the research, perhaps if you 'promote' from Initiate to Battlemage during the... hang on... just realized I played it with version 1.1.0 of Glest... not a problem, I'm on 3.1.2 now and haven't experienced that since. Wow, the transition within two days... quite interesting.
