Problem magic strategy
« on: 24 January 2014, 19:17:45 »
With all the egapack factions i can beat a CPU Ultra 1.5. But with mages i can' t... I think the problem is to create Battlemages in the first 10 minutes and then i can't defend my village from the foe' s attack. In the first 10 minutes i need the Initiates to harvest resources and then i can' t promote a lot of them to Battlemages. A good solution is to build another Mage Tower? If i defend my village from the first attack can i beat the foe with a lot of Archmages and Dragons?

On which map? some 64x64? Mages are great if you have a lot of space to move/run, on small maps mages aren't so good and it is normal.

If battle will not be very fast, then definitely yes.

Not recommended for beginners.

Build one building which has many Hit Points. Put many archers behind it, one worker nearby to repari it during the cpu attack. Now you can you defend yourself against bigger armIn.

In first 10 minutes find another gold mine, build a building, produce many workers for gold.  Now your economy is more powerful than of CPU, start produce endles units.

After attack of cpu, try to counterattack immediately, it wont have troops, so you are the winner.

Put your golem and maybe a summoner guild in the front of your base.  When or before the CPU enemy makes its first attack, morph perhaps 5 or more initiates into battlemages.  The CPU enemy should mostly be attacking the golem and/or summoner guild, and you should be able to kill the first wave without any battlemages dying.

After the first wave, you can try to attack the CPU enemy immediately, since it will be at its weakest.  Avoid towers, and you should be able to defeat many of their combat units in detail while you continue to harvest resources and get a larger army.

Also, your mage tower should almost never be idle in the first few minutes of the game, unless you need to spend gold early (e.g. to make battlemages for rushing or to quickly make a new mage tower) - in general, it should continue sending initiates to mine gold until the local gold is almost saturated with initiates, at which point you should probably still be making more initiates to build stuff or to convert to battlemages.

Perfect, thanks for the advices, but i think some Battlemages must promote to Archmages before the attack, because they have very powerful attacks...
I also use Drake Riders because they have good attacks and good armor. One or two Behemots i think they are good.
