EGYPT:
For egypt its very important to get all upgrades! The last upgrade makes especially snakes very strong!
The Ibis  is very strong too when you have many of them. Especially when you play vs Romans.

MAGIC:
1. Build a second main building very early.
2. Get many initiates and hen battlemages
3. get all upgrades for battlemages in library
Later get Dragons and maybe a group of dragon riders because they are very fast .
Advanced players can get Archmages too but it is tricky to play with them for beginners, because they kill your own units too.
Try Megaglest! Improved Engine / New factions / New tilesets / New maps / New scenarios

It would be very nice to have one strategy/tips thread for each faction to help beginners (like myself) get started and to have an easier time picking up a new faction.

Maybe you two would like to write something up on the wiki? I.e. you could add a "Strategies" section to https://docs.megaglest.org/MegaPack which contains just one sentence with a link to https://docs.megaglest.org/MegaPackStrategies - and then you could edit MegaPackStrategies and note down your experiences and suggestions for each faction.

I agree this would help new players and make it easier to get started. Don't tell people everything you know, though, since figuring out strategies which work can be a lot of fun in its own, especially when you end up with new strategies which work but which other players do not expect.

Sometimes you wan't to learn fast, especially if you want get better fast to play with friends who already play, Perhaps get tips from others. Playing a entire game of mg only to learn a little bit can be very annoying.

In terms of permissions, yes. You can register on Wikia, then your IP address will not be visible to the world. Or you can just post without registering, then you will have to pass Google CAPTCHAs whenever you add or modify any off site references (URLs).

Or were you asking for contributions? Then I'd say you should get started, and ask again once you wrote something down.
