Just an idea : A megaglest cup
« on: 8 March 2014, 18:24:46 »
Hello all :)

Why don't we organize a megaglest cup ?
I have few ideas, if admin and a little player's group are okay, i could propose a more detailed idea and perhaps organize this.

What do you think about that ?

Dadadu66 (sorry for my bad english : i'm french ^^ )

Like it :)
Who would join the battle :P ?
My first Tilseset: SPRING :) (included in Megaglest )

Secret Hint: To play online join the IRC #megaglest-lobby on freenode which is the lobby chat ingame. So you can chat with or wait for people in the lobby without running megaglest all the time.

I'd love it. Now it just takes someone to take the lead and organize it. Both in terms of setting date(s) and time(s) for an international community, as well as in coming up with a good set of rules.

So what do we do ?

I think if there are more than 8players, we do a cup by playoffs.
Otherwise we do a championship where everybody play vs everybody and finally it will be a ranking.

What do you think about these ?

I would imagine multiple 1v1 elimation style battles till there is one sole winner. but maybe that's too complicated...

I love this ide, but like Ishmaru, I think is more complicated. For example: how many players and who can play? Megaglest has hundreads of players, choose which can play is impossible in my opinion.

Just set a date until people can register for the cup.
Then we know how many players we have and can think about the modus we use to play.

I'd say end of March at the latest. Otherwise it will loose momentum and everyone will get sidetracked and we'll finally forget about it entirely...

Or are we missing *really* good reasons to wait until October?
