Hello,

I made a very few minor changes.  I only edited XML and texture files as I'm not a hardcore computer nerd :P

Some of the changes effect both Tech and Magic, however the majority of the changes are to the Magic side.  I messed around a little bit and I'm not sure of the balance.

I suggest that you backup your entire Magitech directory.  You'll need to copy over the Magitech directory by either unzipping the file directly there or copy/cut and paste.

Modder's Notes:

-Reduced HP to both Magic and Tech but not Tech farm animals.
-Reduced damage to both Magic and Tech.
-Changed level system and added more levels.
-Added Undead to Magic.
-Added Stone Thrower to Magic.
-Added Mage Turret to Magic.
-Added Mage Fortress to Magic.
-Added Metallurgist to Magic.  He doesn't do anything.  At some point I hope to have him mine Mythril.
-Changed the Dragon so that it breathes fire rather than fire balls. (However, the animation is silly (think butterfly), if anyone could help with this that would be great).
-Increased the Dragon's Energy requirement.
-Added a meeting point to the Summoner's commands.  Trying to select the monsters from around her was getting annoying.
-Added Balista Tower to Tech.  (Needed something anti-dragon).
-Added more armor and weapon classes.
-Changed the damage modifiers.
-Changed up the textures for the Undead, Stone Thrower, Mage Tower and Mage Turret to help distinguish between.
-Changed Gold to Iron.
-Partially added Mythril.  However I can't figure out how to add some to a map so there's no Mythril to be harvested!
-Increased the resource holding capacity of the Mage Tower.
-Increased the resources.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll figure out some resource requirements for the upgrades.  I've noticed that the Undead make for a decent defensive force unless some Armored Swordman come along, then they just make level fodder and once the Swordmen start to level up they can be difficult to defeat.

I wanted the Dragon to be special which is the reason the energy requirement is so high.  I haven't pitted it against the Tech Ballista Tower so I don't know if the Dragon is over powered or not.

Not only did I give Tech 3 castles, I also increased their starting resources.  I did this because I always play Magic and I needed Tech to produce some units I could test on.  I forgot to de-tune Tech hehe.


alex, I have some ideas for additional Tech units.  Hopefully I can incorporate them soon.

Found a bug:

You cant get iron cause in the map there is only gold, wood, and stone as the main and common.

So that means when I click to mine gold/iron it automaticcally swicthes to mining stone.

Could you fix this?

Does it happen to do this with Tech only?

I've been wondering why, when I play as Magic, Tech never harvests any resources.  I will look into it.

I didn't have any problem with the Tech units harvesting Iron or Stone using the Mining command or by directly ordering them to mine those resources.

My problem with Tech not harvesting anything (the AI) was caused by the magitech.zip file that I left in the same directory as magitech.  Lesson learned hehe.
