Persian "princess" melee attack
« on: 2 July 2015, 00:05:20 »
I found a G3D model of a Princess (from a scenario) of a melee attack. Couldn't this would've been a secondary melee attack? Can this be added for a future release?

The melee attack (looks like a stabbing/piercing attack) would be weaker than the Persian Swordsman, but sometimes useful when melee units are close to her.

The model is found inside this "scenario" here, just in case: http://www.soft-haus.com/glest/mods/scenarios/robinhood.7z
Thanks!  ;)

Problem with secondary attacks is that the AI cannot use them unless the attack has a different field (in which case they use the attack only for the applicable field). Or at least that was the case last time I saw (it's been a while).

I taught the AI in Mandate to use multiple attacks properly, as you can see in my video. They pick the attack dealing the most damage, unless a less mana costly attack can kill the enemy. I did not teach them to use 2 weaker attacks for less mana if that would work instead of hitting their highest damage attack and then using the weakest finishing move. They also couldn't detect a blob of enemy units to focus an AOE hit on. But those are not extremely difficult, unless you have some other use for the performance the distance and damage calculations use up.
