Looks nice!
Btw I post my questions again, because I didn't get any answer so far:

Some remarks:
As toph said: Why don't you integrate the done
Code: [Select]
save/load-function?
Will all trees be able to be harvested in final 2.0?
Do you finaly make everything translateable(like "wood", "stone", "leather", "organic")? Do you put more translation in the final 2.0 data pack?
Btw I have updated german translation for 2.0 RC1:
Code: [Select]
download

Look at the screenshots, there are at least 3 new units there.

As toph said: Why don't you integrate the done save/load-function?

I've been thinking about that. The load/save functionality is great, but  modifies a lot of code in the game and would require a lot of manteinance, We don't have any problems in hosting any patches for the game, but I  use Glest to learn and try stuff, and I don't think I will integrate any external code in the near future. We integrated the linux port because it didn't modify any of the existing files directly, it was only a port of the shared library. We would want to keep the core game closed to a selected number of developers, we think it is a way of working that was succesful  in the past and we don't have any plans to change that in the future, but anyone is free to make his own port of the game ant to host and distribute it.

Glest now supports mutiple models per tileset object, so you can specify several types of trees to be harvested, but other tileset objects, like dead trees or the bigger ones are just part of the enviroment as a decoration.

Code: [Select]
Do you finaly make everything translateable(like "wood", "stone", "leather", "organic")?
I don't think so, this would involve a complex translation system to allow users to translate strings that are part of tech trees.

No, but we still host any submitted translations.

SUGGESTION:
for the guys carrying wood, how about having them carry it in front of them like the Technician did

ANOTHER SUGGESTION:
The things on the map that are either men on sticks or magical guys being hung or caged need to be reversed. Assuming theyre meant to look like a warning, its wrong that there are mages being hung by mage territory and left there, and men speared by their village and just left there.
understand what im trying to say?

I'd like to see a 2.0 Linux Port.

You can get latest from the CVS and compile it, you can use 1.2.1.2 source and 2.0 data or 1.1 binaries (there are packeges around) and 2.0 data.

Anyway we will release a source package for 2.0 final version.

It always came back when sending to the info-^-glest.org address. I tried from a different mail address now, perhaps that was the problem.

Thanks for the reply here.

Can you package your maps and tilesets individually and include a readme.txt crediting yourself? I will gladly upload them to the contrib section in our web.
