Expansion: Ogre stops
« on: 13 November 2005, 19:09:02 »
If you give the command to walk somewhere all the units obey - but the ogre in the expansion doesn't - ok, it's all right if it moves slowly, but very often it stops completely after half of the way...

I don't think it's a really terrible bug, but sometimes it can be annoying.

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=127297

or you just goto www.sourceforge.net (thats were martinho loads up the code) and search for "glest"

"2.0rc" is the expansion - you need the data and the binaries - and you have to put them into the same folder, of course ;)

I thought they just had trouble crossing water, since it was in the river where mine froze up, them refusing to get across.  Got to pay more attention to that and see if thats a differant error.

Downloading the expansion pack now.  Why isn't it called "The Expansion Pack" instead of glest_data?  I would never had gotten it if I hadn't stumpled into this thread and heard what it is.

Great game.  Once you figure out how things work, you can really get into it.  Of course, tech seems to beat magic easily, but there is probably just a tactic I haven't figured out yet.

---edit--
I can't seem to download it!  It freezes up shortly after it starts.  Guess I'll try another mirror.  I believe Minneapolis, MN was the one I tried.  Does everyone get a problem with that one?

I the beginning I always had the feeling my golem doesn't like water at all... tried to make him walk around in the rain... golem refused... because out of EP as I now know...

Doh!  Now you tell me.  I copied all the files from that download over my original ones, just in case anything was updated.  Oh well.

So you mean it is wanted that the Golem stops when the EP goes down and do not go further his way, when the EP Value comes up?
So the Player has to command the Golem many Times until the Golem reaches his Destination, that is very uncomfortable i think.

Thank you for the Answer.
That is a really tricky Idea to get the Golem in defensive.
Good Idea. :)
