How to Play
« on: 11 July 2008, 17:20:43 »
After a few hours of hard work, I've created a guide on how to play glest. It is great or the young and old! Here it is: (PDF format)

Good job.  Glad someone did it.  I just read through it.  Magic attacks Tech early on, or you are going to loose.  Doh!  I just lost a game, having forgotten about that.

You don't mention where to get the Church/Hellfire faction from though.  I don't see those on the download page.

I only have the magic/tech factions from the newest version of Glest which I downloaded today.

Searching the forum will probably provide me with an answer, but that is the sort of thing you'd expect to find in the document somewhere.  Perhaps making a Glest wikipedia people could add to, and everyone could access online would be a good thing to have.

The church/hellfire factions is part of the ancient tech tree, which is being created by none other than me. It, however, is not ready to be released yet. A third faction (called omega, deprived from my trusted name tag) is still in testing. The tutorials have much to go, and models are getting more detailed. The tileset (this is a full pack) is still in progress.

Look for all these on there boards. (The ancient tech tree in the mods section, or the ancient tileset in the maps, tilesets, and scenarios board.

Lastly, when I have access to highspeed broadband internet, (I have dial-up) I'll upload it, wether its beta or finished.

There is a glest wiki. check it out at http://http://www.glest.wikia.com it doesn't say anything about the ancient tech tree yet. I'll make a page for the ATT sometime when I have decided on final models, textures, and I decide that everythings equal (currently omega is very strong and takes a looong time to defeat - at least it's possible  :O  )
